We can pause this problem into two parts:
one) What is 1/10 percentage of 5,000?
two) What is i/10 of 5,000?
Let's start with role ane.
To calculate ane/10 percent of v,000 we must beginning retrieve to DIVIDE 1/10 Past 100.
And so nosotros have: (1/10)/(100)
To divide a number by 100 means to multiply information technology past 1/100, so we accept:
ane/10 x 1/100 = 1/1,000
Thus, one/10 pct of 5,000 = 1/1,000 x five,000 = 5.
(Note: If dividing 1/10 by 100 was disruptive, consider a simpler example. Say we were asked for 20% of a number. Well, to become 20% as a fraction, we would split up 20 by 100. So 20% is 20/100, or 1/5.)
Now allow'southward concentrate on part 2. We need to calculate 1/10 of 5,000. To exercise this we just multiply 1/10 past 5,000.
ane/10 10 5,000 = 500
The reply to office 1 is v, and the reply to part 2 is 500. Their deviation is 500 – v = 495.

When 1/ten percent of 5,000 is subtracted from 1/10 of 5,000, the deviation is?
\(\frac{one}{10} * 5,000 * \frac{i}{100} = v\)
\(\frac{1}{x} * v,000 = 500\)
\(500 - 5 = 495\)
Hence, Answer is D

SOLUTION
When 1/10 percent of v,000 is subtracted from 1/ten of v,000, the difference is
(A) 0
(B) 50
(C) 450
(D) 495
(Eastward) 500
1/10 of v,000 is 500;
1/10 percent of 5,000 is 100 times smaller than the above, so information technology's five;
Thus the deviation is 500-5=495.

ane/10 of 5,000 is 500;
ane/10 percent of 5,000 is 100 times smaller than the above, so it's five;
Thus the difference is 500-five=495.

v,000 * 1/10* 100 = five,000/1,000 = 5
5000 * i/10 = 500

We know that 10% of 5,000 = 500
So, 1% of five,000 = 50
Which means 0.ane% (aka 1/10 percent) of 5,000 = 5
i/x of v,000 = (1/ten)(5000) = 5000/10 = 500
When we subtract 5 from 500 , we become 495
Answer: D
